About Larry Doyle
Known as "Laughing Larry" Doyle, Larry Doyle was one of the premier second basemen of baseball's Dead-Ball Era. He spent most of his Major League career with the New York Giants and became one of the club's biggest stars.
Doyle won the 1912 National League Chalmers Award, the predecessor to today's MVP Award, and captured the 1915 National League batting title. He was also a key member of New York's three consecutive National League pennant-winning teams from 1911 through 1913.
